Biafra: Court Orders Unconditional Release Of Nnamdi Kanu

A Federal High Court sitting before Justice Adeniyi Ademola in Abuja has ordered the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu, the director of Radio Biafra.
The judge gave the ordered after Kanu dragged the Federal Government and the Department of State Services (DSS) before the court, challenging his continuous detention without filling charges against him.
He had prayed the court to set aside an order earlier granted to the operatives of the DSS to detain him for 90 days on alleged investigation of terrorism against him by the Federal Government.
Speaking after the ruling, counsel to Kanu, V. O Obetta said the order was a victory for justice and democracy.
He affirmed that they were only going to ask for liberty of the Biafran leader unconditionally.
It would be recalled that a magistrate court sitting before Shuaibu Usman had declared the Biafran leader discharged, after the DSS had filed a notice of discontinuance against him on the grounds of new facts that emerged during investigation.
